Cerulean Rain is about works that push the boundaries of how we look at the world and what the reader and audience are used to seeing. We are about experimental works and those that go beyond the borders of mainstream subject matter. To us, unpleasant subject matter is considered a good thing. Unique subjects and those we don't hear about as often are things we like to see and read about. Non-conformity is a good thing to us. We like darker themes, including existentialism, life and death, mental illness, unhappiness, philosophy and anything else that looks at the word with a unique perspective. But we do not limit our literary magazine to these themes. What is most important to us is uniqueness that pushes the edges of the 'usual' things.
Reading Period & Issue 4
I want to thank all the people that have submitted for issue 4. I am looking forward to reading all your submissions. I have just begun going through them as June was to be the start of the reading period for Issue 4. Please be patient in waiting for your response however because there are a lot of submissions for us to go through (which pleases us a lot) and it is a very busy time for both Meaghan and I right now. This is what brings me to the second thing I want to talk about in this annoucement.
The publication of Issue 4 is being rescheduled for October 2009. As I just mentioned it is a very busy time for Meaghan and I right now. We are both finishing up our last years in university and thus cannot devote our focus to Issue 4 for another few months. Although I have begun reading submissions, most of the reading will most likely be done in August and September. Thus, we ask for your patience in waiting for a reply. You are welcome to inquire about your submissions though. Another reason for the delaying of Issue 4 is that we want to reschedule the times of year we publish because publishing right after Christmas has proven to be difficult. Therefore, we are looking to begin publishing in approximately October and April each year as opposed to January and August.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.

You may have noticed the new link on the navigation bar for Cerulean Rain Publishing. We are expanding Cerulean Rain into a more general area of publishing. Cerulean Rain Publishing is a new electronic press. It will have a similar philosophy as Cerulean Rain the magazine. We want to publish things that are less mainstream and push the boundaries of our thinking. It is going to be a free e-press that will give authors an opportunity to share their works with others, and for readers to explore works outside of mainstream thinking. The mission and vision of Cerulean Rain Publishing is to provide a place for writers to flourish, readers to explore, and the e-publishing world to grow. The website is still under construction and it is not yet open to submissions but I am hoping to put out a call for submissions in the next few weeks, or even in a few days. Please browse the website and see what it is all about. I hope that I will get as many lovely submissions as I do with the magazine. I look foward to reading submissions and to working on this new expansion of Cerulean Rain. I invite everyone to submit works as soon as Cerulean Rain Publishing is open to submissions. I will post an update here as soon as we open to submissions. Please feel free to email us with an inquiries you may have. The email address is inquiries @ publishing.ceruleanrain.com
